Beach vacation or mountain retreat?
Mountain retreat. It’s the middle of the summer in the States and I'm out skiing.
Tourist hotspots or hidden gems?
Hidden gem. I speak Spanish, and in [spanish-speaking regions], I can actually use my Spanish. Whereas in a tourist spot, everyone is going to speak English.
Most likely to lose: ID, Phone, Credit Card
Credit card probably. It’s always dangerous to leave your tab open. I actually lost my Sapphire card when I was in the Hamptons last weekend.
What type of person are you during travel, go with the flow and let others take the lead or plan and execute?
I’m more of a go-with-the-flow. When I was in Europe I decided at the last minute to go to Dubrovnik in Croatia. If I had my return flight already set then it would be a lot harder for me to do that.
If your bag got switched could you live off of someone else's suitcase for a week?
No shot. I don’t think anyone is going to have clothes that are going to fit me. This almost happened to me when I was in Switzerland last year. Someone pulled my bag, and I had theirs because it was the same bag type.
What trip is on your bucket list and who’s coming with you?
Me and two of my friends are [trying] to hike to the base camp of Everest. He also hiked the Dolomites (Italian mountain range) around the same time as me. I've heard the hiking is just as hard as that but the elevation is a little bit worse.
Marry, Kiss, Kill: Ocean, Pool, Lake
Kill pool, kiss lake, and marry Beach.
What’s the most ridiculous souvenir you’ve brought home?
When I was in Switzerland last year I brought home one of those really big Steins. Problem is it’s such a pain to bring back because it’s all glass. I probably should have gotten a smaller one.
Why do you travel?
It’s for the experience. Even the mundane things I do on a day-to-day like coffee or going out to eat is completely different and feels like an adventure because it truly is something brand new.
