The idea for PTG sparked from my own chaotic experience trying to wrangle friends' preferences for group trips. Whether it was coordinating a weekend getaway or a longer vacation, the logistics of organizing everyone's preferences, budgets, and schedules often turned a fun idea into a daunting task. I spent countless hours on spreadsheets, sending endless messages, and navigating multiple booking platforms just to get everything in order.
I planned an amazing group trip to St. Thomas for my 20 closest high school friends. However, the planning process was cumbersome and lengthy, requiring numerous white boarding sessions and a talking stick to ensure everyone's ideas were heard.
March 2017- First group trip I planned to St.Thomas
I realized there had to be a better way! I envisioned a solution that would take the stress out of planning, allowing friends to focus on enjoying their time together rather than getting bogged down by the details. This vision led to Places To Go, a platform designed to simplify group travel by providing coordination, booking, and payment tools in one convenient place.
